Southern Rockies Wolf Restoration Project

The Sierra Club's Southwest Regional Office is co-directing the Southern Rockies Wolf Restoration Project, a coalition of conservation groups dedicated to returning the gray wolf to the Southern Rocky Mountains, including parts of Colorado. However, plans to restore the balance by returning the wolf may face the same fate as grizzly bear restoration. We need you and all of our activists at the ready. Much of the effort to ensure recovery is centered around building public support and understanding for the important role that wolves play in the native ecosystems of the Southern Rockies -- and reminding our public officials that science is on the side of restoring wolves to more places. These important decisions should be based on sound science, not politics.

We here at the Sierra Club can play an especially important part in this coalition effort by mobilizing our active, dedicated, and skilled volunteeers to speak out and educate in favor of restoring the balance to the Southern Rockies by returning the wolf. For more information, please visit the Southern Rockies Wolf Restoration Project's webpage at www.rockywolf.org.
