Frequently Asked Questions
About the Sierra Club Singles (SCS)

1. Who can participate in SCS?
Any single person who wants to join like-minded individuals in social or outdoor events. All ages are welcome. We have had participants from 25 to 65, though most tend to be in their 30's-50's.

2. Does it cost anything to attend SCS events?
Nope! There is no membership fee, although many events will have a cost involved.

3. Do I need to be a Sierra Club member to participate?
No, but to support the Club and get all the benefits of belonging, we will always be encouraging everyone to join. See the details at the Chapter Membership information page.

4. How do I find out what is happening with SCS?
Bookmark our website http://www.rmc.sierraclug.org/singles and visit often. You may also join our list serve and get regular updates.

5. Is there a printed newsletter SCS sends out?
Not at this time. But you can find events printed in the Peak & Prairie, the newspaper of the Rocky Mountain Chapter. The best way to see what is going on is on our website.

6. Who leads SCS events? Can I host something?
Any Sierra Club member who wants to host an event is entirely welcome. Special qualifications apply for leading outings. Visit our Leading an Event page for more information.

7. What regular events are held?
SCS will have a planning potluck the first Saturday of each month, held in a Denver-area home. Besides meeting for food and friends, we will have a brainstorming session to come up with events for the upcoming months.

8. Is the public invited to SCS events?
In most cases, yes. We have a publicity person who will get notices in the appropriate local publications. SCS will help generate interest and involvement in the Sierra Club.
