The Governing Body of the Sangre de Cristo Group is the Executive Committee. It is responsible to the Executive Committee of the Rocky Mountain Chapter (the Colorado statewide chapter) and ultimately to the Sierra Club Board of Directors for assisting members, organizing issue campaigns and managing the Club's affairs in Southeastern Colorado.
At the Sangre de Cristo Group Executive Committee's initiative and discretion, its meetings are open to Club members, who are encouraged to attend and to participate in discussions and debates around Club activities and priorities. It is occasionally (though rarely) necessary for the ExCom to go into "executive session" to discuss personnel or litigation-related matters. For those discussions, only voting ExCom members and others essential to those discussions are permitted in the room.
Basic rules of order and civility apply and the Executive Committee reserves the right to eject/exclude members whose behavior interferes with the conduct of the ExCom's business.
When meetings are held at restaurants over meals, food costs are the personal responsibility of participants. Members who are not regular participants in ExCom meetings and who plan to attend and to eat at such meetings should advise the Chair at least 24 hours in advance so that the restaurant can prepare.
