ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION & GROWTH MANAGEMENT IN THE WEST

A 1 day conference bringing together environmental groups, citizen activists, lawyers, planners, land use professionals and academics to hear experts speak, to discuss what is and what is not working, and to share possible solutions as to the mitigation of the impact of land use and development on the natural environment and aesthetics of the West.

Track I - A general policy overview of problems, issues, policy options and best practices
Track II - A Critical analysis for lawyers and planners of regulatory, technical and planning issues

Topics include: An Overview of Environmental Protection & Growth Management in the West; The Federal/State/Local Relationship in Environmental & Land Use Law; A Toolbox of Solutions; Water Quality & Land Development; Transportation Planning & Land Development; Wetlands, Endangered Species & Wildlife Protection; The Impacts of Growth on Air Pollution; Environmental Litigation Ethics; Public Lands & the People; Watershed & Riparian Habitat Protection; The Federal Landowner.  Building a Win/Win Scenario; Visual Pollution; and The Politics of Environmental Protection & Growth Management in the West.

The registration fee entitles you to receive a bound copy of the Conference materials, two continental breakfasts and the Friday afternoon reception. For substitutions, fax (303) 871-6358. Refunds (less a $10.00 processing fee) are available only if written notice is received by 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 21, 1998. Park in the parking lot behind the Houston Fine Arts Center at 2Ist and Olive Streets. Parking fees are not included in the registration fee.
