Official Rocky Mountain Chapter Outings

All Mt. Evans Group outings are free and open to Sierra Club members and nonmembers alike. Participants must be 18 or older and must register in advance. Most outings are limited to 20 participants, so early registration is strongly advised.

WEEKDAY FRONTRANGE HIKE SERIES The Mt Evans Group of the Sierra Club announces a once per month Front Range hike on Tuesdays or Thursdays. FREE to all hikers. All are welcome, non-Sierra Club members or any Sierra Club Group member.

Denver weather can be iffy but usually more predictable than the mountains. Check the weather report prior to the hike and dress accordingly and bring extra layers. We could have windy, snowy or cold conditions in the fall/winter/spring months and extreme heat in the summer. These hikes will go unless there is a storm warning. If we have had a snowstorm prior bring crampons or snowshoes. Clothing and gear requirements for winter condition hikes include several layers of non cotton clothing, sturdy boots, hiking poles, traction grips for your boots in case of icy conditions and wind shell, rain gear, and sturdy boots for warm weather hikes.
Plan to bring snacks, water and a lunch. Please come if you have the daylight hours free and not if you need to leave before completing the entire hike.
